Diesel + Edun

Diesel has partnered with Edun Clothing to create a collection "born in Africa." They sourced cotton from Uganda in an effort to increase apparel trade and development in Africa blah blah blah resulting in a very pricy collection. I won't go into the pros and cons of this type of partnership.

but...

What I do love about this collaboration is that Studio Africa has been born out of it. Studio Africa is a platform that celebrates young African creatives. I am loving the concept and cannot wait to see what else comes from it.

Studio Africa – a virtual loudspeaker for a new generation of creative talents from across the continent. The campaign features nine artists in fashion, film, music, literature, and photography; individuals with both talent and a deep commitment to their respective countries and people.Curated and edited by OKAY AFRICA alongside Africa’s most creative, STUDIO AFRICA hosts inspirational, forward thinking creative work originating in or inspired by Africa.

Danai Gurira: Pretty in Pink

How gorgeous is Danai Gurira in this Tadashi Shoji pink number. I will admit that I'm THE MOST biased because she is Zimbabwean. Can't deny she looked good at the Elton John AIDS Foundation party.

Peter Pilotto: LOUD!

I am going through a very overwhelming print obsession. I saw the Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 collection and fell in love. These are some of the loudest prints I've ever seen, to be honest I don't know where (or if) I would be bold enough to wear any, yet I still love the them. This collection really is beautiful to look at and it reminds me of how I felt about the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 collection . These are some of the picks that make me happy. The full collection is HERE

Instagram Chronicles

I went to Boston for the Harvard Africa Business Conference last weekend. I'm still not over what a great experience it was. I'm looking forward to going back in the coming years.  Here are a few pictures.

Skirt Fest

Spring is long overdue in my world.

Anyway, I love skirts, pencil skirts, A- line skirts, maxi skirts -- any skirt really. I keep the skirt wearing to a minimum during the winter for obvious reasons so when Spring and Summer roll around, I pretty much wear skirts and dresses all the time.

Here are a skirt-based looks I put together on Polyvore.

Prabal Gurung X Target

****UPDATE**** My #PrabalForTarget package arrived. Besides having to return one item for financial reasons, I am so so pleased. Well done Target! These are my favorite :)

At this point, Prabal Gurung is a man after my own heart.

On February 10 (T-2), his collaboration with Target will go on sale! Listen to me when I say, you need to take a look at the collection. It is bold and bright, all around beautiful. If the winter has you feeling down, anything from this collection will be a reminder that Spring is definitely on the way.

I never really get excited about high end designers doing these collaborations and truthfully, I rarely get excited about any clothing from Target but THIS IS IT. I am officially a believer. Not only is it affordable with prices ranging from $12.99 to $199.99 but it is also SO true to Prabal Gurung's style as a designer. Yay!

Check out some of my favorites from the collection. No surprises seeing as I am obsessed with prints at the moment.

More under the jump!
