Fashion P.R. Girls

Public Relations is one of those things everyone thinks is easy and fun. Admit it, when you hear PR, you think of a glamorous life filled with amazing clothes, amazing parties and celebrity friends. All the PR people I know definitely have some of that down, they always look ridiculously well put together and they attend these awesome parties but...they do not get to enjoy them because they are working! After all the hard work and stress planning an event, you cannot just arrive, get drunk and dance into the night -- you have to work. *sigh* There are perks though and they must be good because those who do it, love it. PR is way more involved than it looks but they do make it look easy.

Social media and the internet have changed the whole PR world. These are three of my favorite fashion PR girls who use the social media to bring us closer to their brand!

1. OscarPRGirl 

Erika Bearman is Oscar de la Renta's PR girl. I don't know what is it about platinum blonde hair that makes me fall in love (see: Miley Cyrus) but when OscarPRGirl switched up her hair, I officially became a groupie. OscarPRGirl takes us behind the scenes of everything to do with the prestigious fashion house: a day at the office, prepping shows, meetings or the launch of new products. She shows us beautiful places, people and things. She is always decked out in fabulous clothes by Oscar and sometimes she gets her uber cool friends, like Shiona Turini, to do the same. And if you are not sold yet, she is a huge Jay-Z fan :) I found that out in her feature on The Coveteur.  So dope. 2. Zara Okpara

Zara is the head of PR at Jewel by Lisa. I am a huge fan of Jewel by Lisa so it was cool to find out who their PR girl is and to find out she is just as fabulous as the brand. She does not have a big internet presence, but you can find her on instagram (@z_l_o) always looking glamorous in JBL. Not only does she look good in JBL but she has also helped brand grow, most recently landing it on luxury retail site, My Theresa! Check out this Little Black Book Guide to Lagos that Zara put together for Heritage 1960 during Arise Magazine Fashion Week. She clearly knows her stuff, this is one PR girl I would love to hang out with.

3. DKNY PR Girl

Aliza Licht is the OG. THE PR girl of PR girls. I was captivated by the high fashion illustrations and her entries about the fast-paced, behind-the-scenes world of fashion which were the perfect combination of witty, intimate, and mean-girl sarcasm. Before we even know her real name (she revealed who she was in a Youtube video in 2011) she gave PR tips, explained how seating at shows works and shared some of the ridiculous lengths people will go to score a ticket to DKNY shows.
